COVID-19 response

Secondary Title

Red Brush Christian Church is committed to being a safe place for all. In this situation and at this time we believe it is wise to be proactive by canceling our in-person Sunday services, Wednesday Night and Sunday Night Children/Teen programs.

Since our church family won’t be meeting in-person for the normal scheduled activities we will still be gathering online! Online services will never replace meeting in-person, but attending church online is a powerful way for us to stay connected. We will be live-streaming services at 8:30 am and 10:15 am on our web site redbrushcc.org (YouTube) Red Brush Christian Church and Face Book. Red Brush Christian Church. On these platforms, you can comment and interact with each other, and

we will have our staff and volunteers logged in to chat with you about the service.

If you need any help accessing those platforms or understanding how they work, please call our church office during business hours at (618) 665-3280 or email Jgoodman@redbrushcc.org

As we receive more updates about Corona Virus, we will keep you in the loop about future services and events. At this moment in time, our only planned cancellation is for Sunday’s and Wednesday’s gatherings.

We must also remember that God has not called us to live in fear but in faith. As the apostle, Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 1:7, “For the Spirit of God does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline.”

All services are moved online.

We will gather online on Sundays at 8:30 and 10:15

Why are you gathering Online instead of physically?

Secondary Title

  • We are adjusting our meeting options because we love our community and want the best for them. Meeting online helps to protect our neighbors.
  • We want to protect our neighbors because we love our neighbors.
  • We are not being fearful. We are being responsible.
  • Some of our neighbors are more vulnerable and we want to exercise special care.
  • Love – not fear – is informing our decisions.

In this season Red Brush wants to be a source of encouragement and an example of wise decision making. Red Brush is meeting online because we want to stay connected while we work to help protect others.

Prayer

Secondary Title

In times of uncertainty, we can turn to a God who is always in control.

Here are a few suggestions on how to pray during this season:

  • There are lots of people who are especially vulnerable in this season. Pray God would be with and protect them.
  • There are people who will experience increased stress and anxiety in this season. Pray God would strengthen them.
  • There will those who will become ill. Pray God would bring comfort, aid and healing.
  • Pray for those taking care of the ill during this time. Pray God would protect, provide and strengthen them.
  • Ask for the faith…to be generous with your time and resources
  • Ask for the courage…to take advantage of opportunities to share hope and the Message during this season.
  • Pray that God would be glorified in all of our actions and in our world.

What do you need?

Secondary Title

Do you have a need? Let us know, and we will do what we can to help come alongside you. We can only help with what we have, and we can’t guarantee to meet every need, but God has blessed us and we want to bless others. This is a challenging season, but one that we will get through together. Call the church office at (618) 665-3280 and let us know how we can help!

How can you serve?

Secondary Title

We don’t give and serve because we have too much resources or time. We give and serve because we believe it is a better way to live and it makes a real difference in the lives of those around us. We may not be able to do everything for everyone, but we can do something for someone.

We’re constructing a response team. This team will receive emails with immediate needs of our community right around us-and give ways that you can help! You can sign up here

Here are some other ways you can serve.

Help your neighbor - Offer to help pick up groceries or medicine for those in need.

Give Blood - Click here for a list of local blood drives. The list will be updated regularly.

Support Health Care Workers - While most of us are staying home to avoid COVID-19, some among us are heading in to the front lines. From food service personnel, to doctors, to nurses, to medical techs, there are so many other medical staff who are caring for the sick, even at their own risk. We are going to need your help in showing our deep gratitude!

Support Local Restaurants - As our restaurants are forced to close their lobbies and go to takeout and delivery only, make it a date night in and order from a locally-owned restaurant

Kids

Secondary Title

What a bizarre time to be working in children's ministry! Attempting to connect with our littles and kids during a quarantine is a bit of a challenge, BUT we are trying to think outside of the box and reach our kids through other methods. RBCC Kids (and it's middle-aged children's minister😜) is entering the field of ministry via technology. Your child can connect with us through several avenues...

1. The Red Brush Family Ministry Facebook page has up-to-date information about the church. The Think Orange curriculum is shared to the page each weekend for your child to view. This is the same curriculum we use on Sunday mornings in their classes. We also publish service opportunities on this page. Check it out!

2. The RBCC Kids YouTube channel has videos from Penny. It's a way for kids to stay connected to our church. Just go to www.youtube.com, type in RBCC Kids, then subscribe to our channel. YouTube is a free service.

3. Right Now Media is a wonderful resource for the entire family. Bible studies, cartoons and videos are available through our church website. Visit www.redbrushcc.org, hit the Media tab, click on the Right Now Media link and sign up. This is also a free service.

We look forward to the time we can worship together in our church building (the smiles and hugs are greatly missed!). Until then, we are going to make the best of the situation and let our light shine! We'll see you when we see you!
